Goods will be dispatched from our warehouse within 48 hours if order is placed by 1pm Monday to Friday only (excluding public holidays or annual closure) these will be despatched using a 48 hour courier service for delivery Monday to Friday only, orders received outside of this will be despatched the next working day (Monday to Friday only). You can select a Saturday delivery option, however there is an extra charge for this. Delivery costs are dependant on service chosen and postal area, carriage costs are calculated at the point of order (48 hour service applies to all addresses with a postal code within mainland UK, anywhere outside of this area may take 48-72 hours using the 48 hour service. Please ensure someone is available to receive your order. We use a third party courier who will need assistance in off-loading the goods safely., also please ensure that your address is accessible for a large vehicle to be able to deliver to, otherwise we will have to cancel your order before its despatched. We ask customers to check goods and comply with instructions sent and to notify us immediately of any quality issues. Before signing the delivery note, all packaging must be checked for signs of damage and then indicated on the delivery note accordingly

Installation

Preparation

For preparation start by laying the material flat on a surface and position the sheet until you are satisfied with the way the sheets line up if you are using more than one sheet.

Before installing ensure the surface area is free of any coatings or debris that may affect the bonding. This area must be free of dirt, paint, oil or any other substances.  It is recommended that gloves are worn when installing.

When you order our 1mm Flexi Slim Stone sheets it will be delivered pre-rolled inside a sturdy cardboard tube.  As the sheets are kept rolled throughout packaging and transportation, it can be stiff when it is first removed from the packaging and it is recommend that you use a heat gun to soften the stone sheets to ensure that there will be no breakage or damage when installing.

Once you have removed the products from the packaging, use your heat gun over rolled up of stone sheets to soften/loosen them.  Then whilst unrolling the sheets continue to use the hot gun to soften so no damage occurs whilst unpacking. Lastly, go over the sheets once more so the sheets are flat and ready to install.   

Adhering

Flexi-Slim Stone can be applied in various areas including, walls and ceilings and is applied using an adhesive, making it very quick and easy to install. Our stone sheets can also be bonded to a substrate such as mdf or chipboard. 

The sheets are easy to install with no specialist labour or tools required and can be cut using an angle grinder or tin snips. We recommend applying the adhesive to the back of the sheets first and to not go all the way to the edge of the sheet to allow the adhesive to spread. To avoid getting the adhesive on the stone, you can use masking tape around the edges of the stone sheet. 

The adhesives we recommended are:

SOUDAL FIX ALL WALL AND FLOOR ADHESIVE

These adhesives will work with any thickness of stone, and will create a strong lasting bond between the product and the surface.

Applying on corners and joining sheets

The sheets can be lined up either next to eachother or around a corner by butt joining the sheets tight together. If you would like a traditional stone tile effect, however it is not requirement as the sheets can be applied tight together. 

Sealing the stone

Our 1mm and some of our other products are already pre-sealed. However, if you applying the stone to bathrooms and shower areas we recommend that the stone has an additional sealent applied to protect the natural stone. 

If you would like to apply 1mm, 2mm or 7mm in an area with water, we recommend adding an extra sealant to protect the stone from penetration of moisture.

The sealants we recommend are:

Lithofin – SPLASH STOP

Fila – Hydroprep

Laticrete - STONETECH^®
